When I moved here I discovered a part of myself that I didn’t know existed. Amsterdam represented hope for me. I used to take the train into central station, pick a direction and just walk. I would wander around and look at things, sit in little café’s with a cup of coffee and discover different areas.
People in the city are really friendly and want you to see their city. When you stop and look at something long enough, people stop and explain the history behind it.
If you see googly eyes in places around the city it’s me! I started it one day when I needed cheering up and made a face with the eyes around a mark on a tree. I walked past it later and someone had left me a note and a packet of bigger googly eyes. The note said that they’d bought bigger eyes so it could be seen more easily and told me to keep doing it.
